"It was all a dream." DJ Mr. Magic (John Rivas), rap radio pioneer, passes.

Rap legends from Biggie Smalls to Tupac Shakur lionized him in their verse. And now, like them, he's gone.





DJ Mr. Magic, one of hip hop's conduits to radio, died Friday of a heart attack.



Born John Rivas, he launched and hosted the first all-rap radio show in the U.S.

President Of Don Diva Magazine Gunned Down (Legendary Underground Miami DJ, P-Man Sam) - Ross Questioned?



A Friday afternoon in Miami rang off abruptly as the sound of bullets left a man dead. Sam Ferguson, President of Don Diva Magazine was the victim as shots were fired upon his car while he was driving.



Ferguson, 47, was driving north near Griffin Road when bullets rang off onto his vehicle. He then crashed his car into the highway median, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detroit rapper Baatin from Slum Village dead at 35

Titus (Baatin) Glover, the Detroit rapper who co-founded the much-acclaimed Slum Village, has died.



(Seen on the left)



The circumstances of his death remain unknown, associates said this afternoon. Baatin's body was found this morning in the 14000 block of Anglin Street and is now at the Wayne County medical examiner's office, said family friend Ty Townson.

R.I.P. to The NFL's YOUNG LEGEND, Steve McNair



On July 4, 2009, McNair was found dead of a single gunshot wound to the head, along with a female victim whom police did not immediately identify. The apartment was one which McNair frequented, in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that police were called to a residence and found McNair and the woman shot to death inside.

R.I.P. Roderick Anthony Burton II aka "Dolla" (Konvict Muzik) 1987-2009

The man shot at the Beverly Center mall this afternoon was identified as Atlanta-based Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, according to his publicist, Sue Vannasing. VERY IMPORTANT: 2 Core DJ's Shot while leaving the club in Toledo, OH.

Kaj Boogie & DJ J-Roc (both from WJUC in Toledo) were shot after outside a altercation that occurred with a customer inside the club that they where DJin at.



After the altercation, J-Roc was loading his equipment up when he was fired upon twice, Kaj went out to check on his fam & was shot once.



Both have been hospitalized.

David 'Pop' Winans Sr. dies at 74; patriarch of gospel music family, The Winans





David "Pop" Winans Sr., the Grammy-nominated patriarch of the award-winning gospel music family, died Wednesday (April 8th, 2009). He was 74.



A statement from his family said he died at a Nashville hospice, where he had been since January after suffering a heart attack and stroke in October.
