DESCRIPTION:“THROW DOWN IN D-TOWN”—It’s A Dallas Thing!\n\nDAL
 LAS, TX, DECEMBER 28, 2009: The City of Dallas’ Deputy Mayor Pro Tem
  Dwaine Caraway partners with Dr. Audrey Newsome, CEO of Campus Harmon
 y, INC to bring to Dallas one of the most fun and exciting local enter
 tainment events to date! “The Throw-Down in D-Town”. This competit
 ion will provide the city an opportunity to showcase and experience th
 e talent that exists in our own backyard. The event kicks off on Tuesd
 ay, January 12, 2010 at Stone Trail in Addison for four (4) weeks, twe
 nty (20) bands total with four (4) finalists; five different bands wil
 l compete every Tuesday thereafter at 7:00 pm, with the finale culmina
 ting during All Star Week on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. On that nig
 ht, the four (4) weekly winners will compete against each other for th
 e championship. The Grand Champion will be announced that evening by M
 ayor Pro-Tem Caraway and proclaimed the best R/B Band in the DFW Metro
 plex. In addition to winning the Grand Champion title, the winning ban
 d will also receive a prize of $5000, and more importantly, a deservin
 g student will also receive a $2500 scholarship to study music at a co
 llege or university.\nThis event will, at the same time, allow the com
 munity to appreciate the home grown musical talent and also give back 
 so that we also foster the young talent that is our future, while we p
 romote the importance of arts and music in building a foundation of ch
 aracter and leadership in our youth.\nCampus Harmony, INC., under the 
 leadership of Dr. Audrey Newsome, provides students with the tools to 
 demonstrate strong leadership on campus and in the community and to me
 et the demands of diversity and cooperation in the global landscape of

 ood and civic involvement is an ongoing mission, not something that is
  done only when elections take place. Dwaine is visible and helping th

  TX 75001 for the kick off and every Tuesday thereafter to cheer for y
 our favorite band. The weekly winners will compete against each other 
 during ALL-STAR WEEK for the finals. A panel of celebrity judges and a
 udience participation will select the champion for the Grand Prize of
