Kia “Babydoll” Jeffries began her music career in her early teens.  Fulfilling her destiny, this Queens, New Yorker began earning money performing with hippie icon; Paul Simon. Early touring was a month in Yokohama, Japan with a Harlem based band.  This "hustle/networking" attitude lead to her first deal on Epic Records with a 4 girl group named Oscar in 92'.  She even  co-wrote three songs on the album release, Spotlight, including one with recording artist Carl Thomas. Working/studying with Trey Songs' super-producer Troy Taylor, had Babydoll on her way... And... earned her some publishing checks too!

To date she is probably best known for singing the hook and verse on Akinyele’s hip-hop anthem “Put It In Your Mouth” (Loud Records).  As the song bubbled underground, she stayed busy singing on hooks, and touring the world with internationally known artists like, Chaka Khan, Biz Markie, The Fushnickins, Wu-Tang Clan, Dj Honda, Dj Funkmaster Flex, and  Daryl Hall (Hall & Oats). Back in the states, “Babydoll”, then going by her given name Kia Jeffries, helped form the female group 4Kast.  Harve Pierre, (Bad Boy CEO) was the A&R mastermind behind the successful album Anyweather, where a then unknown Chris Robinson got to shoot his 1st R&B video for "Miss my Lovin".   After major touring, and many tv appearances the group disbanded, releasing just the one album.  Miss Jeffries was blessed to have written over half it!
Now that she had some solid credits, Babydoll put together some of the songs that were not used on the 4Kast album with some new music, started shopping herself as a songwriter, and was received with open arms.  Penning for recording artists like Jahiem and Adina Howard;  Collaborating with legendary writer/ producers like, Dr. Dre, Notts, Tyrese, and Rodney Jerkins, landing her song "Wet" on the soundtrack of the movie 'Door in the floor' starring Kim Bassinger, she met P- Diddy's powerhouse songwriter Jack Knight who has written for everybody from Hi Five, to Faith Evans, to  Keisha Coles.  He formed the company “Writing Factory” and signed Babydoll as his first writer.  Their very first collaboration "Young & Sexy" was featured 2002, in the movie “The Hot Chick”   starring comedians Rob Schneider and Anna Farris. 

These days you can catch "Babydoll" on tour in a city near you... Her shows range from live band combo's to featured DJ's, to an all female revue. Show themes are customized for each venue.

In 07' Babydoll created DOLLHOUSE PROMOTIONS and began developing a "live band/hip-hop sound", promoting shows and performing. She also was invited to, and joined SESAC music publishing. Noticing a lack of "real" opportunities for local artists, she created the 'DOLLHOUSE Talent Search" with SESAC as a main sponser. This "boot-camp" style educational showcase has gotten artists discovered, hired, and "corporate ready" to make money from their craft. Look for these showcases in: NY, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and New Jersey.  The motto: Livurdreams&quiturjob!  
THE PROJECT LITERACY is Kia's newest campaign. In line with the governments "no child left behind" program, it is a form of "edu-tainment type events where celebrities, community leaders, and commoners alike will bring a book and share their love of reading with our struggling youth.  These events hosted by The Dollhouse in partnership with certain "Not for profit" organizations, give sponsors and artists a unique platform to show what they do best!
With a strong list of accomplishments, her passion for music, and a powerful bunch of industry mentors including Lamont Boles (Tyler Perry music,etc), Babydoll is ready! She has re-invented herself with distinctive in your face lyrics, and with a style that is soulful "street-pop". She's a diva with a great head for business, and an eye for talent.
