In her book A Silent Scream author and entrepreneur Patricia Yarbrough shares the pain and heartache that a grieving mother suffers through after the loss of a child. Despite her outwardly successful life, the thoughts that her son her friend gone forever piloted Patricia on a self-destructive journey. In a declining state of health, Patricia's anguish over her sons death propagated her loss from one son to a husband and four other children.
"Grieving is hard enough, to have to do it alone is even harder. As it is you feel no one understands how you feel, no cares", says Patricia.
The book was painful to write, and even though it took her six years to complete, Patricia was compelled and obligated for her story to be heard. When asked about the title, Patricia said, "When you lose a child, especially to murder, the intense pain (grief) it hurts so bad deep down in your heart, and can last a lifetime. Everyone tells you it's time to move on, that you should be over your loss. So you hide your grief (scream) inside".
When someone is murdered, the death comes without warning. A parent might watch a game with a child on a Sunday afternoon -- and then never see or hold or speak to that child again. Each member of a family is likely to grieve differently, creating a potential for conflict. Siblings of the victim may feel neglected by their parents or suddenly overprotected. Spouses may be unable to give each other support when it is needed most.
Hundreds of books have been published that follow murderers along their paths of destruction. And yet just a handful of books have looked at murder from the victim’s survivors perspective. A Silent Scream pays homage to the survivors.
Patricia Yarbrough is a highly sought-after speaker for grief support organizations. After several successful years as a Healthcare Manager, Patricia decided to follow her passion and write full-time.
I want to say "Thank You" to all of my male friends. Just the fact that you are living is such a blessing. So many of our young men are dying without finding out their true purpose on this earth.
I am a mother who's son, best friend was murdered so senseless.
I'm asking every male on my page to take the time and read " A Silent Scream" why? because for a mother to bury her son is the worst pain in the world.

DJ'S 4 FEMALE RAP - ARTIST OF THE WEEK 3-2-09
Fiya aka MS. CORE DJ aka Dj Fat Alberta was born & raised in New Orleans but now lives in Houston and is a triple threat to this entertainment industry. She started out by writing poetry, gospel and comedy, and prides herself as being the crunkest and most famous fat girl of the south. However, she admits that being a fat black woman in this industry is NOT easy and it is NOT the norm. But her passion, persistence and desire to be a well rounded entertainer will NOT allow this Diva to give up.
What some may not know about “MS CORE DJ,” is that she knows what true sacrifice, hard work and dedication feels like. For a few months Fiya was homeless and forced to live out of her car. At that moment she could have given up but she strongly feels that, “If you really believe in something you should never take your eye off the prize.” A major independent signed her then later told there was NO market for her but she never let the non believers stop her from doing what she loves and does best.
At this time she has managed to beat the stereotypical odds that were against her and has traveled across the globe as a multi-talented entertainer. You may have caught her on BET Uncut or even making an appearance on Comic View. Or possibly as an opening act for Too Short, Trina, Devin the Dude, Bun B. and many more. She has won a numerous amounts of competitions, been an actress in several stage plays, hosts parties and shows, ghost writes for male artists in the south and is the only hype woman/ female beat boxer in the game today.
“Everything I’ve gotten I earned. When everybody is sleeping I’m up. My grind is delicious cuz I eat off this shit. I believe in myself and love myself. Being from New Orleans you gotta be comfortable in your swag... I am Dj Fat Alberta cuz just like Fat Albert I am the hippest, coolest chick on the block. I’mma muthafucka not insecure at all but I am human and of course it hurts when people say nasty things about my weight. But that didn’t stop me from having the number one video show in Houston... fat people make up the majority of America. So when they say there is No market for us I say why?”
Fiya is now the CEO of Fiyaworks Entertainment, which offers Explosive Music, Marketing and Management. After waiting on people she realized that you can’t keep spinning your wheels not working you gotta network to build your net worth. Current singles "Salt Shaker Drop" and "Dirty South" (street anthem) are taking the streets by storm. Yung Tonka (seven years old), Shawty Margarita, Kausion, The Money Makaz, Shay Boogie from the Bronx, Squally (producer), Ferrari and K.B aka Mr. Wired Up are all artists that she is working with that you will be hearing from real soon.
“If my eyes were to close today I have No regrets I wouldn’t change anything. I had a scholarship for journalism but turned it down because I wanted life to teach me. Couldn’t ever see myself doing the corporate thing to actually have to get up get and work for someone. Women bring structure to any situation with softness and diverseness. With the current state of hip-hop and females being so transparent it’s almost as if the song is incomplete. But it’s definitely a new day for music and you’re going to see more females on the rise".
I am pleased to have this entrepreneur/entertainer extraordinare as this week’s FEMALE Artist of the WEEK!! Congrats to you!! May your hard work continue to pay off!!
