"The 27 Club" is not the usual indie rapper mix-tape... it is a work of art:
Bobby creatively weaves his personal struggles, fantasies and victories with references to some of the most famous 27 club members. Starting with the album design, he introduces fans to the neo-expressionist art of Basquiat. The intro then foreshadows the order of appearance of the featured 27 clubmembers: Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and finally, the recently deceased Amy Winehouse. (Also in chronological order of their deaths.) The "Closing Time" track puts the finishing touches on his masterpiece, tying together the underlying reason for the sudden push of this album along with the definition of it's title.
