music programs from the internet

I had some programs that I was using to make my beats, but ever since my computer started to act up on me, it's been sitting in the shop, and can't get it out yet, but the problem is that I can't stand sitting around waiting for my computer to get done, so i was wondering where can I get some good programs from the internet, thats either freeware, or a demo. So i can at least start makin some kind of beats. And put them up so everyone can hear, also cost lil or free. Demos are good but I have to be able to use everything I make.
