CAROLINA ALL DAY.COM INTERVIEW WITH QUOTE

Hip Hop is dead!!! That has been the motto of this generation of hip hop/rap artists and producers. The mainstream music industry has been clogged with so many clichés and gimmick rappers, it's almost impossible to find good music.

But just when you think it's the end of the road for real, positive hip hop with a true meaning and message, we bring you QUOTE!!!

Quote is the self-proclaimed "Future of Hip Hop." He started his journey about two and a half years ago at a local studio in Wilmington, NC, where he began working with the group, YBG (Young But Grindin'). Quote was given a gift that very few artists possess, rhyming without writing, thus putting him in the likes of some of hip hop's greats such as Jay-Z, B.I.G., Lil Wayne and a few other moguls of the industry. Influenced by a host of talent, young and old, Quote has shaped his craft so well that, even though he is from the south, he appeals to all cultures of the game. With a "never get comfortable" attitude, Quote puts all he has into his music, and with great benefits. His diversity allows him to do any type of song without sounding like a cliche. When asked what his long term goals were, he states, "To make a mark in the game. I just want to be recognized for being me and not following the trends. I would love to own companies and continue to break down barriers in the game like Diddy, Jay-Z, and others have already began to do."

"I want my fans to have fun and know that they can be themselves and enjoy life while you're here. I don't talk about guns and killing people because that's not my life. I'm young, I party and have fun, and I like nice things, so that's what I rap about." Quote states in an interview with Carolina All Day. With that kind of humble state of mind, Quote is sure to go far in the hip hop industry.

Quote has collaborated with an all-star cast of NC artists in the few years he's been rapping such as Shelly B, Rickaine, Scar, KYD, Hunned Stacks, J-Quin, and countless others. With hopes of collaborating with Young Swift, Naps Crew, Sonny Rich, and, Carolina All Day featured artists, Pop-N-Bulletz in the near future it looks to be a great year for North Carolina Hip Hop.

Quote concludes our interview with this statement, "Carolina Hip Hop is getting better but we still have a long way to go. We have to watch how those major cities did it and take note. I feel like rappers in NC are more concerned with being "the one" that puts the state on rather than being a part of a movement that brings attention to the state for everyone. The blueprint has been given to us from NY with Biggie, Jay-z, Nas, etc. Philly, with Beanie Sigel, Cassidy, Freeway, etc. ATL, with T.I., Jeezy, Ludacris, etc. The list goes on. The Florida movement, the West Coast movement, the Texas movement, the Louisiana movement, the Chicago movement. I think whenever some of these NC rappers can look past their egos and humble themselves, we all can come together and make hot music as a TEAM and be the next big movement in the industry."
