At the age of 10, was the start of Dj Bran. The name was given to him by his father who was a current old school DJ at a local skating rink that he managed. While watching his father go through crates of records and hear crowds scream and yell “Yeah that’s my song” as they skated by, Bran knew he had an affinity for music. By 12, His father bought him a DJ starter kit. Bran had played around with it for exactly 2 days but something was wrong and said “These are belt drive turntables; I’m ready for direct drive”.
Listening to the radio with influences like Dj Ran, DJ touchtone and Dj Doc B, Bran studied the 3 different styles of the art and developed his own style at a young age. Throughout high school, Bran was DJ’in his own homecoming and Prom dances. While still at the skating rink, His dad brought Artist and Local radio personalities to hype up the sessions. Bran was then discovered by Pooch man of “The Hot Boys” on Power 99 in 2003 and was invited to be a guest DJ their night show. In 2004 his father told him about a mix contest at 92q, a popular hip hop radio station in Baltimore Maryland. The long drive was worth it to Baltimore and Bran was picked to be interviewed live on the air. Building a name during high school from being interviewed on local radio, He started to DJ the local teen parties in Delaware. By that time everybody in school came to him to find out the buzz for the weekend. Doing many events graduated him to doing clubs, and Bran wasn’t even 21 or old enough to get in. At age 17 he was the youngest in the club and you would have never thought it was a kid on the turntables pleasing crowds of age 21+.
Currently DJ bran is known as “The youngest in charge” and is on his way to a great career ahead. In 2008 he was picked to be a Guest DJ on 100.3 the beat during the popular night show, Opens up at many Clubs in the tri-state area for mix show DJ’s and also throws his own teen parties with a series of party music mix tapes. Bran’s hard work of networking is leading to a successful career and many say he has the magic ear. When Bran is asked what is his main goal he says “I just don’t want to be local, I want to be national, Traveling worldwide doing what I love to Do”.
