No Proper Introduction for a Ministry DJ

Benjamin Franklin said,"God governs in the affairs of men." Throughout the scriptures, there are many instances of God doing just that. And in the case of Leon Purley a.k.a DJ Civil Rightz, God's intervention has never been more apparent. Born in San Diego, Calif., DJ Civil Rightz made it to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend college at Oral Roberts University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Journalism.

With hard work, a lot of encouragement, and God on his side, he pursued a career in radio at 106.9 K-Hits for a couple of years, until God spoke to him one night to leave the secular world behind and follow Jesus Christ to the fullest. On April 21st, 2009 "DJ Civil Rightz" dedicated his life and DJ ministry all to Jesus Christ to witness through the art form of djing and spreading positive Christian music for the world to hear.
DJ Civil Rightz is the resident DJ at Victory Christian Center located in Tulsa,Oklahoma every Tuesday night for the 3D young adult ministry and every Thursday night for Chosen Urban youth ministry. He is the Vice-President for Meekness Music Group, LLC., a Christian record label located in Texas and operated by CEO Kevin Whitaker. Their first Christian artist signed to the label is "Stephen-I".
DJ Civil Rightz can be heard worldwide on the web hosting Global Kingdom Radio for Oral Roberts University radio station KORU every Friday night (6pm-12am). DJ Civil Rightz has released several mixtapes for the streets uplifting the kingdom of God and reaching out to the youth and adults. Those mixtapes include: Reaching Souls(2009), H.O.T.L Productionz presents: Westcoast Praize(2010), The mixtape that never sold(2010), The Afterlife(2010), Welcome to the Lighthouse(2010), and The Return of the Christian DJ(2010).
What's next for the Tulsa Christian DJ? He wants his light to continue to shine throughout Oklahoma and the rest of the world, so God can get all the glory and praise. "My biggest goal for the rest of my life is to help spread the gospel to people to establish a intimate relationship with Jesus Christ before their time is up on earth", says DJ Civil Rightz.
