Da' Hitman & Donell Jones "Platinum Status"
Da' Hitman teams up with Donell Jones to deliver "Platinum Status" featuring music from Donell's career and including collaborations with Yung Joc, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, Jermaine Dupree, and Eclipse.
Da' Hitman teams up with Donell Jones to deliver the Platinum artist's first official mixtape "PLATINUM STATUS" which will be released on November 19th. This will be the second time Da' Hitman has collaborated with a RIAA-Certified Platinum artist which is a feat Da' Hitman is proud to accomplish. "There are a lot of DJs dropping massive numbers of mixtapes and I've done my fair share this year with 32 released so far, but the number of DJs releasing mixtapes with Platinum artists is a short list. I think the S.E.A. nomination for Best R&B Mixtape of the Year has definitely helped me expand my R&B mixtape catalog, but this "PLATINUM STATUS" mixtape is easily the highlight of my 2010 mixtape catalog." When asked about the significance of the release date, Da' Hitman explains "I wanted to get this out in time for the long Thanksgiving weekend, but before all the big album releases flooded the market starting on the 22nd...plus this will be free to download so it won't cut into anyone's budget."
The mixtape will feature a collection of Donell's music spanning his entire catalog along with some surprise features that are exclusive to "PLATINUM STATUS". With Da' Hitman on the mix and Donell himself hosting the mixtape, "PLATINUM STATUS" is expected to jump right out of the gate with some major download traffic and will be found on numerous websites as a free promotional download.
Donell Jones is no stranger to success with a RIAA-Certified Gold album (Life Goes On) and a RIAA-Certified Platinum album (Where I Wanna Be). Jones has climbed up Billboard Charts repeatedly not only with his own music, but also with songs Donell wrote for several other artists such as Usher’s “Think of You” for example.

Donell’s most recent album (Lyrics-released on September 28) was issued on his own Candyman Music through E1 Music. The album reached # 9 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and is currently at # 29. Lead single "Love Like This" reached #8 on the Adult R&B airplay chart and is collecting massive BDS numbers (currently #31 on Billboards Top Hip-Hop/R&B Songs and #20 on Billboard’s Heatseakers chart – visit Billboard.com).
