K Foxx Leaves 99.1 (99 Jams/Miami) for Hot 97 in New York

Born and raised in New York City, the talented K. Foxx has become one of the fastest upcoming African American female entertainers in all of the United States. As a child, K.Foxx was showered by Hip Hop and R&B music. In high school she attended the Professional Performing Arts School where she studied dance. She also attended the world renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre where she realized her future would be in the entertainment business.

After high school, K.Foxx headed down south to attend North Carolina's Shaw University. In college she endeavored an on air personality through radio and television. Her magnetic voice was heard at various radio stations in North Carolina, which included Radio One Station 97.5 and Hot 104.5. K.Foxx was then seen for the first time on a larger scale while hosting the nationally watched television show called "Hip-Hop Nation". After recognizing her amazing gift, talent-programming director, Cedric Hollywood recruited K. Foxx as a Jock for South Florida's radio station 99 Jamz. Then in no time, she landed the 6pm to 11pm time slot hosting the renowned radio show "The takeover" with national recording artist DJ Khaled. "The takeover" has truly taken over and is the number one rated time slot show in South Florida.

Television came soon after with her landing spots on Telemundo's hip-hop show "The Roof" and UPN's show "Toss it up." K.Foxx was then recognized as one of the top air personalities in all of Florida. Then in 2007, K.Foxx released a calendar called "I am every woman." This calendar portrays women of color that have inspired her. "I wanted to do something a little different from all of the eye candy calendars that were out there, I wanted to give inspiration to young females and also pay homage to the ladies that inspired me." Also in 2007, she was voted Best female air personality in Miami's newspaper the New Times. Later, Foxx was voted Best Radio Personality by Broward County's newspaper the New Times in 2008.

Also recognized for helping the community, K.Foxx is dedicated to helping the youth. She visits high schools to speak to troubled youth and host non-violent rallies. Her recent enterprise is called "The K.Foxx Princess Project" which gives female high school seniors the chance to have their dream prom. "This project is dear to me because I wanted to give back to young ladies who have excelled in school but may not have the means to really enjoy the one night of their life that should be a cornerstone in their development."

Today, K. Foxx is successfully moving higher and higher up the ladder in the entertainment world. She has the opportunity to take over New York City's biggest radio station, Hot 97, one of the biggest radio stations in the country. K. Foxx will be an on air personality there, shining her dynamic talent to the world. She is growing as an influential global icon with endless possibilities for what the future has to offer her.

Here is what K. Foxx had to say:

"Life is amazing. I've been working at 99Jamz for 7 years and they have been the backbone for my advancement. Mr Rushin, Derrick Baker and Ced Hollywood all believed that I could achieve greatness, and I'd like to thank them for giving me the platform to shine.

This is why I have accepted a position in New York City on HOT 97, to co-host the new morning show with Cipha sounds and Rosenberg. I believe that success is when timing meets opportunity. I've stayed patient, humble, and I always worked hard, and will continue to work hard. I feel blessed to have been offered this position, and I will never forget my roots.

I will miss my 99 JAMZ family, but I am excited about new opportunities as well.

This is not the end of my reign in Miami, its just the beginning."
