Etta James is a HATER?? Dissing Beyonce??

Remember a few months ago when Etta James had some nice things to say about Beyoncé's portrayal of her in "Cadillac Records"? Well, apparently the good vibes have dissipated. James unleashed a verbal beat-down on B last week during a concert in which she, believe it or not, threatened to whip the "Single Ladies" singer's butt.

Though she wasn't the first singer to perform it, the 71-year-old James has made the smoldering ballad "At Last" her signature song since it became a hit for her in 1961. Beyoncé sang for President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama's first dance at the Neighborhood Ball two weeks ago. For some reason, that seems to have angered James, who put Beyoncé, and the president, for that matter, on blast during a show at Seattle's Paramount Theatre on January 28.

During the gig, she criticized the singer's performance at the inauguration. "You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears?" began her rant, a recording of which was obtained by TMZ. "Wait a minute, he ain't my president. He might be yours; he ain't my president. But I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song — she's going to get her a-- whipped.

"The great Beyoncé," James went on. "Like I said, she ain't mine. ... I can't stand Beyoncé. She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol' president day, gonna be singing my song that I've been singing forever."

A review of the show in the Seattle Times noted James' reputation as a bawdy performer, adding that she made "lewd facial and hand gestures" during her opening song, "Come to Mama."

Beyoncé won critical acclaim for portraying James in "Cadillac Records," and has performed "At Last" several times since the movie was released, including in front of James, who has not made this kind of public fuss over it previously. A spokesperson for Beyoncé could not be reached for comment at press time. Beyoncé got in hot water with another icon last year at the Grammys, when soul legend Aretha Franklin ripped into B for introducing Tina Turner as "the queen," a title Franklin has claimed as her own.

Etta don't want nun...lol. She better watch that mouth before "B" phone home. lol All jokes aside, Etta should be thankful that she is still alive to see my President and my girl Beyonce perform one of "her songs". Jealousy is a funny character she?

Oh, I want to see Beyonce and Etta fight. Beyonce fighting an old hag in adult diapers then beyonce will manuever around her doing the Single Ladies dance and Etta going throw her heroin at Beyonce. Then Tina going sucka punch Etta. KO! SMH, I got too much free time.

Come on now, she could have simply said, "She shouldn't perform the song!" She went extra hard and all which isn't cool. You all must remember Etta never stopped touring and I saw her perform before in like 2005 or 2004 I think. If you sung a hot track such as that and was alive to see a day such as that; yet, someone else performed your song then you would be piss. That is like Kanye running on the stage performing My President is Black and Jeezy sitting right there. Please, Beyonce could have invited her on stage and let her perform. Plus Cadillac Records was not all that to me

Yes James is a hater! The Cadillac Records movie got more touring dates than what she usually gets. I don't know where she is getting this whole my song mentality from she did not write the song! She get's paid to sing the song but does not own any rights to the song. If do some digging you will see that the song was written in the 40's by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren. It would be different if she actually wrote the song and owned the publishing rights to the song then that would literally would be her song. So miss James since someone else wrote the song then it is no your song. Even though both guys have been dead for several years they sure did enjoy the money Etta made for them while she sang THEIR song!

Etta James will & can never be a hater--E. James was one of my grandmother's favorite singers and I felt every word she said--I almost lost my mind when I saw the headline to this---Etta is a veteran and Beyonce's "rolling voice" can't touch Etta's clarity. I don't know why she didn't lip synch to Etta James song if the movie was in fact about her--how would new viewers really get educated about who Etta was if they didn't even hear her real voice?

Regardless of who the media/Hollywood may hype up--I feel that you can never beat the original.
