ALL ABOUT ME

WHO IS DJ RANDY GOT DAT FIYA?

NOTE: I'M GOING TO BE POSTING OLD AND NEW SONGS THAT I'VE WRITTEN HERE. I know.........I don't upload songs without my artist's permission. We'll see about that. Yes, own music and beats, but not every one of my rappers want their songs streamed online. I HAVE TO HAVE CONSENT FIRST. I just can't go behind their back and upload it.

Wutz good? The name is DJ Randy Got Dat Fiya and I am a music producer/songwriter/DJ/CEO from Brooklyn, New York, now reppin' Detroit, Michigan to the fullest. I've been in the music industry for sixteen year's so I have alot of experience at what I do. On weekdays in Detroit I host an underground radio show (6pm-1am) on an underground station called Hot 92.7 FM, where I get the opportunity to play the hottest underground and mainstream Hip-Hop and R&B in the game. Regarding music production, I can produce West Coast, East Coast, Funk, Dirty South, Crunk, R&B, Jazz, and New Jack. When it comes to DJing I can do just about anything but I specialize snap, pop, crunk, Top 40, Top 100 & Gangsta Rap. On my show I compose my own playlists so therefore I can pretty much play anything I want, and that allows me to help other cats, which I enjoy doing. Shoutout to Brooklyn, Queensbridge, the Bronx, my family down South and my family down west. Alot of cousins in the family. It would be impossible to give them all a shoutout, but they know who they are.

Before I start talking about what I like to do and shit, I would like to tell ya'll where I'm from. My parents are both from Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, but I along with my three brothers and three sisters were raised by my parents in Brooklyn, New York. We're all hustlers. It's all about grindin', gettin' money and makin' moves.  I come from a family that is spread out all over the country. I have family in New Orleans, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Atlanta, Alabama, Cali, Texas, Florida and Philly. I guess you could say there are alot of cousins in my family. Today I live with my three brothers, three sisters, my girlfriend, their girlfriend and boyfriends, and about five of my nigga'z in a five story crib.

I am a very laidback and easygoing person. I like to chill and go with the flow. I'm kind of shy when you first meet me, but once you get to know me I'm very down-to-earth and sociable. I'm confident yet I'm humble. I'm a very positive person and I tend to look at things with a positive outlook on life. I enjoy being around positive people who know how to have a good time. I love to have fun and most people will tell you that I'm a lot of fun to be around. I love joking around with people and acting silly. I'm probably one of the most intelligent and articulate people you'll ever meet.  I graduated from Wayne State University with a major in history, and two minors in broadcast journalism and music production. I'm definitely not afraid to speak my mind and tell people how I feel about certain issues. I keep it real!  When I'm not in the studio, I'm a very active person. I enjoy meeting new people, experiencing new things and traveling to new places. I'm always down to meet new friends, so don't ever hesitate to ask for a friend request.

During my spare time I like to listen to music, read books and magazines, hang out with my nigga'z, go to the movies, play basketball, spend money, malls, casinos, writing poetry, cooking, wrestling, football, sports and surfing the internet. I definitely love clubbing, even though I would not consider myself a huge party animal, but when I have a drink in my hand and a chick on my arm, I throw down. I love food and have a voracious appetite. My favorite dish is rainbow trout. I'm a very stylish nigga and I love fashion. I enjoy staying fly by dressing myself in the flyest throwbacks, T-shirts, hoodies, Air Jordans and its only approrpriate that a ni99a as fly as myself rock the hottest jewels, because that's just how I get down. I am extremely depended upon myself..I love and live my life to the fullest. With only one regret and that is that it must all end one day. Aside from that single one- None because without my regrets or mistakes I wouldnt've learned my valuable lessons or come to the place in life I am today.

One of the most frequently asked questions I receive from people on a daily basis is how I got my name? People ask me that question all the time. Well, for those wondering, I'm bout to tell you how I got my name. During the early to mid 90s I developed a sound reputation for making beats VERY quickly. It didn't matter whether I was using an MPC or using live instrumentation to produce my music. I have always been able to work fast when it comes to producing music. I can make anywhere from one hundred to two hundred beats a day. When I first started in the 90s and artists would come to me for a beat, they would usually say, "That boy Randy, man, he got that Fiya". Usually I didn't even have to make a beat for the artist, because I usually had one ready that would suit the artist's needs. So that's how I got my name.

Music: Unlike every other rapper, I didn't get into this shit for the fame. I got into it fueled by a hustler's ambition and alot of determination. Music is my passion. The name of my production company/record company is called Iced Out Productions/Iced Out Records. I also own alot of other different production companies. Whenever I co-produce a song with my by Tec-88, (my partner in crime so to speak) I produce it under Trill Ass Nigga'z Production, because Tec-88 is also a producer and we've been friends a very long time. I also own my record company called Iced Out Records, which features a number of UNDERGROUND popular Hip-Hop artists, who are pretty well known nationwide on the underground scene. Alot of my artists are against putting our music online. I can understand why but I'm not against it. For me its a matter of loyalty, privacy and lettin' my artists make a living.

How It All Got Started: In 1992 thanks to my popularity as a prominent underground DJ in Detroit, I founded Iced Out Records with my girlfriend Jovanda, my nigga Tec-88, Mickey and alot of other childhood friends I had grown up with. We were all very well educated, knew alot about music, and running a business so it was easy, but we still hustled. I immediately signed my nigga'z to contracts. The very first artist I signed was a nigga named Tec-88, who released several platinum and gold albums. Very talented artist. He's one of my best friends. My nigga for life. No doubt. I also signed Ms. Glock, Da Kid, Lil Derrick, 8 Ball, Sick Skill'z, Wicked Skill'z, Ms. Cherry Eye'z and Crooked-I and along with myself, we formed a group called the Local 260. What happened next I had no idea of seeing. The Local 260 put out their self-titled underground debut titled "The Local 260" and it went Double Platinum with very lil radio play. Shortly thereafter everybody released a series of solo albums, and every one of them either went gold or platinum. I nearly fainted after that shit. I mean, I was not prepared for that shit at all. All I can say is God blessed me in a major way when that shit happened and I'll never stop thanking God for that blessing he bestowed on my nigga'z and on myself as well. I'm very humbled by my success.  Never saw Platinum and gold plaques comin' when I started this music shit. It just sort of....happened. The buzz caught on I guess.

Keepin' it Gangsta: If you like gangsta rap then you'll like our music. Our music deals with growing up in the ghetto, clubbin', thuggin' and doin' what we have to do to survive out in them street'z ya heard me. But it's more than just gangsta rap. All of my artists are very versatile and we touch on everything from politics and social issues. It's also hustler's music for all the hustler's out there going through hard times. It's spiritual, crunk, gangsta, and uplifting. From a musical standpoint we can produce a song about almost anything and make it hott. I've never wanted to be a rapper so I mainly produce music, because I enjoy that more than I do rapping.

M-A-C: My most popular rap group is a group by the name of the Mac Pack! These dudes are my nigga'z. They consist of Max Steel, DaGlobalKnight, and DaLordHighPlaya. They are three of the best PURE MCEE'S in Detroit.  They've been around since 1994. Max Steel is their most popular member and he's also my best friend, aside from my nigga Tec-88. They don't have a certain style. It's hard to identify their style, because they can do it anyway ya wanna do it. They do it all from crunk, funk, keepin' it gangsta, political and social commentary, talkin' about da hood life, clubbin', spittin' knowledge, and freestylin'.

How they make their music: The Mac Pack has a way of making any record that they spit on sound ill, and that's why they have been successful. Between the three of them, they have a total of 13 albums under their belts. Their producer is a girl by the name of Meagan Street'z, who is married to DaGlobalKnight. In my opinion she's the greatest female Hip-Hop producer walking the face of this earth. Her beats are THUGGED THE FUCK OUT! Their very rugged, very hardcore, very in-your-face, very crunk and very gangsta, and the reason for that is that the Mac Pack are hardcore gangsta rappers from New Orleans Magnolia projects. Their music is a representation of the environment in which they were raised in. People like them cuz they keep it real when they rap and because of their stamina on da mic. All three rap VERY FAST. We're talkin' machine-gun funk blastin' and they all have polished flows. I think people respect them, cuz their just tryin' to do them and carve out their own legacy and not step on anybody's toes, and I think people really respect them for that!

Extended M-A-C FAMILY MEMBERS: Three other nigga'z they run with are three nigga'z by the name of J-Hood, PlatinumPlaya & Da Pimp Doctor. Remember, their lyric's not mine. If you buy a Mac Pack CD, somewhere on there you're going to see feat: J-Hood, PlatinumPlaya or Pimp Doctor. They signed on with da Mac Pack in 1994 and blew up with da Mac Pack. Those three nigga'z are all individual artists, but they are very popular here in Detroit on an underground level. All of the rappers that are signed to Iced Out Records are veterans. These are rappers who don't care about blowing up or anything. They just want to make money, enjoy rapping, and provide for their families. Iced Out Records wasn't founded on the belief of trying to go mainstream. We are strictly an underground record company.

Holla: Yo, check it out! As long as you are a  genuine person, thEn anyone can get an add from me. IIGHT. Just hit ya boy up, get at me me, and we'll chop it up. Much love to all my nigga'z in the hood, The Core DJs, (I know that nigga and I don't always see eye to eye, but I do have a lot of respect for him. Unfortunately he's a lil too hostile towards me. I've tried to get along with him. The nigga is stubborn. I respect him a great deal, but he's not an easy person to like, but I don't have respect for him and everybody else in the core djs) and everybody doin' their thang in music, sports, modeling and fashion. Have a blessed day, stay positive and stay humble.
