DJ Fire -- Big P, at PV if you know me, I have been a professional DJ for about 6 years now in the clubs, big events, & parties. I have been spinning for about 10 yrs mixing house parties college events, etc. mostly Hip-Hop, & R&B, Pop & Dance. I picked up the name "Fire" from a party I was doing in Dallas, dude told me "man you got the floor on fire!!" So I figured Fire wouldn't be a bad name. My first days Djing started at Prairie View A&M University the only University Village DJ using my computer to scratch and mix music using an application called "Mixvides". Other DJ's thought I was crazy moving this big desktop around but the party stayed crunk. Respect was a hard thing to gain back then but the music spoke for its self. Watching DJ’s like B-love & Steve Nice kept me wanting to better my skill on a different level. One thing I can tell an upcoming artist or DJ, respect is not just given in this game you have to earn it. I'm one of the first DJ's to start this Virtual Thang in 1996-97 with Mixvibes and a Compaq desktop.
I studied music beat counts, hooks, scratching on some turntables with an old Numark 2 channel battle mixers, technique from the hottest DJs and I studied the crowd most important skill. Many original wax DJs didn’t show the timecode generation any love because many never took the time to go back to understand how this game started, the Master J era, when you didn’t have a laptop. I never brag to be the best I brag to be the first. Three years ago I jumped on this program called Virtual DJ, it was a demo 3 time upgrade to Mixvibes, I did a party with it but it kept restarting after the 30 min limit I ended being paid some major change that night so I went and bought it the next day. Quick shout out to Chris B, Austin,TX still holding me down. Anyways, Mixvibes one of the first if not the first Djing application, it inspired the Seratos, Virtual DJs and all of these Time code CD & Record applications we see today. This is DJ Fire still burning up the air waves in Texas & LA.
Catch Me on Heat 99.5 Radio Sat. Nights Live in the Mix. In Texas Martini Blvd Bar & Lounge is my spot come thru I'll take care of ya.
