[DUMB ASS] Tennessee Man Beat Ex For Refusing To Make Him Kool-Aid

A man in Tennessee took his craving for Kool-Aid too far when he beat his ex for refusing to make the sugary sweet beverage.

Robert Joseph Atkins was arrested Monday (Dec. 10) for aggravated kidnapping, domestic violence, and violation of a protective order, after he allegedly beat the mother of his 3-month-old baby, and held her hostage.

Although she has not been identified, Atkins took her keys and cell phone for not complying with his demands. She was later allowed to leave her home to go get him cigarettes, at which point she called the police.

According to the incident report filed with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department, Atkins showed up at his ex's house at around 4:30 am, and “jumped up and started striking her in the face,” following the Kool-Aid debacle.

Following the assault, the 31-year-old fled the scene with their son via an open window. He was found hiding in a bathroom at a nearby apartment. He is said to have had no parental rights to take the child without permission.

Atkins was charged with one felony and three misdemeanors and held in lieu of $300,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear in court today.
