Flavor Flav arrested for assault with deadly weapon
Rapper, musician, and generally annoying reality TV star William Jonathan Drayton, Jr. , better known as Flava Flav, was busted in Las Vegas this morning for assault with a deadly weapon, and battery.
According to TMZ, Flav allegedly went after his fiancée and threatened his fiancée’s teenage son with a knife.
Las Vegas police stated that the rapper got into a heated verbal altercation with both the teen and Flav’s fiancée which escalated into a violent affair.
Police are accusing Flav of getting physically violent with his fiancée and also threatening her son with a knife. It was Flav’s fiancée who eventually called 911.
Flava Flav was arrested at approximately 3:00 a.m. in Las Vegas, booked into police custody, and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, and, misdemeanor domestic violence (battery) The rapper was being held on $23,000 bail before bailing out at around 11:30 a.m. today.
The now 53-year old rapper first came to fame with the hip-hop group Public Enemy. His main claim to fame is yelling "Yeah boy!" and "Flavor Flav!"
His reality TV resume features several VH1 series, including “The Surreal Life,” “Strange Love,” and “Flavor of Love.”
