Love, Struggle, Trials, and everything in between - - GEN X is a full circle project, covering relatable topics for listeners of all ages. This follow-up project to last year's Masquerade is much more urban, much more polished, and FREE.
Featuring Production from some of the hottest Indie porducers in the game, the sound is not only current with today's top Billboard Charts, but also forward thinking, yet classic in concept. Production credits include Basshedz, J-Scrilla, Certified, Benny Rome, Grussle, and Jupyter Muzik.
Features on the project fit the project and songs perfectly. Philly's #1 artist, Tone Trump, is featured on a remix of the hit radio single "50 Gs", while DC's own Uptown XO punches in on the project's title track "Gen X". Additional features include Enoch 7th Prophet on the socially conscience "Clique Track", with Laelo Hood appearing on the Dexter-esq tale of love and heartbreak on "Love and Prozac". The only other female presence on the project belongs to miss Jay Mills a.k.a. The Real Jay Mills on "Nevius Voorhees". Some of you may also remember the "Kick Game" single from late last year, featuring Camlplex. The song was so well received that we decided to include it on this project as well.
Lastly, Whitefolkz appears on the upcoming single "Trials" [prod. by Certified]. A track with a long story and history behind it, I couldn't have been more pleased to have Whitefolkz return as a feature on the Gen X project, especially after the success he and I had on our projects last year.
Gen X is truly a MIXTAPE in every sense of the word. DJ Ykcor flexed his mixing skills with this one. It's easy to just add drops and yell loud over a project, but staying true to his craft as a Real DJ -- listeners will be able to truly enjoy the songs, virtually uninterrupted with minimal cuts, scratches, and drops. Just a whole lot of mixing and blends.
Finally, I have to say thank you to The Funkregulata Celo for hosting the mixtape. He has been a huge supporter of me from the go-- and his guidance and influence over the last year has made a big impact in my success thus far.
