Help Haiti - The 1 Million Dollar ChallengeAfro-Preachah and CD baby donate money for every CD and Download sold
Minneapolis, MN (TSE) January 25, 2010 – Starting on Monday, January 25th and continuing for two weeks, CD Baby will donate $1 of their cut from every CD sale through their website, and $1 from every download sale over $8.99 on their site, to the American Red Cross and to Mercy Corps, a Portland-based relief organization with a large presence in Haiti. So, Afro-Preachah, an artist on CD Baby's website decided to join in the efforts to help Haiti. For every $1 donated by CD baby from the sale of Afro-Preachah's "Poppin My Colla - Maxi Single" at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/afropreachah Afro-Preachah will make a matching $1 donation.
In a recent letter to all CD Baby artist, CD Baby president Brian Felsen had this to say, "The earthquake and its aftermath in Haiti have touched all of our lives. Many in the CD Baby family have already contributed as individuals, but we wanted to do more to help the victims of the horrible earthquake tragedy. "
To take it even one step further, Afro-Preachah initiated the 1 Million Dollar Challenge. "The tragedy in Haiti has definitely affected the music community!" says Afro-Preachah in a recent interview. Hip-Hop has helped raise money for a lot of causes. As independent artists, we need to follow the example set for us by major artists like Wyclef Jean, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Rihana, and Bono. Haiti needs help now, and I am doing my part and standing up to the name Hip-Hop has made in helping the people of this world!"
Afro-Preachah is hoping to sell enough CD's and match CD Baby's donation from his album sales to equal 1 million dollars. "First off let me say that what happened in Haiti was a sad ordeal," says Nate Campbell, former unified WBA, IBF and WBO lightweight boxing champion. "It's a beautiful thing to watch CD Baby and Afro-Preachah, especially Afro-Preachah, donate to Haiti. We all need to open our pockets and donate. I encourage all of you to go to CD Baby and buy the CD or download his songs to help him hit the million dollar mark!" "Afro-Preachah is a great example for other independent artists!" says Sterling Odom, Editor of Picture Dis Magazine. "I will be the first to buy his CD on the 25th to help donate to Haiti."

About Afro-Preachah:
Originating from Kansas City, Afro-Preachah is in a league of his own! "Sexy church music' is the title he uses for his unique blend of hip-hop, soul, R&B, and funk. Not the church folks gospel, but the controversial sound Afro calls his musical revolution.
Tone E. Fly, from 96NOW FM, hails Afro as the hottest local talent in MN. Special Dark, Fleet Deejay's and KFAI Fresh Air Radio, says "Afro's music is refreshing, it changes the game." "It's that real sh*t," says Bro. Jules, KTTB's B96 Beat Master.
