This is an area that the independent music professional must focus on heavily in order to achieve a successful album sales cycle. Technology plays a key role in validating and distributing music and media that comes from independent artists. Online tools, communication, and visability these days can be easily implemented by single individuals, as opposed to having teams of unproductive strategists working on one project. The big labels know this, but for the average artist looking at a contract promising a cash advance with promotional management life couldn't seem to get much better.


Technology has enabled the independent artist to utilize Self production resources in order to distribute their music or media creation. Artists as well as consumers are embracing the diverse options that are in place, and research has proven that variety and options are making the big labels cringe. The industry days of marketing what sells are over. Technology has given birth to the creative inginuities the market place was looking for and the big labels would never take risks on. The independent music professional with raw talent and without restrictions from big labels can learn proper technology applications for their own projects. Implementation of these practices will give the independent artist a multi demensional advantage against the large known labels. An artists unique and niche style will prove to be a match that cannot be ignored by big labels.


Independent labels, artists, A&R's can now cut production costs into a fraction
of what would be paid in recoupment costs to the big labels. Technology and online marketing strategies give the independent conglomerates of creative music and media a fair and level playing field. Communications marketing strategies and independent branding concepts will play key roles in the success of an todays artists.
