Spring is a great time to get a great song all set for presenting to the recording industry. And we're looking hard for some great ones right now so we can get as many as possible to Recording Artists for the upcoming recording season!

*The BIG news for this competition is the addition of 2 SPECIAL awards: 1) for the best comedy/humor song or lyric (in April, for April Fools) and 2) the best patriotic song or lyric (in May, for Memorial Day).

Each of these special awards includes a $250 CASH PRIZE in addition to any other prizes you may win. For writers outside the U.S., patriotic songs related to your own country are welcome.

The entry fee is still low: only $20 per song or lyric, just enough to cover administrative costs. To enter, just mail or upload your original songs or lyrics, written or co-written by you, along with the appropriate entry fee, and you're automatically in the competition.

Songs and lyrics will be judged by professionals in the music business. That means ALL entries will automatically be heard and read by professionals who can get your work to some of the best artists in the business.

This is a great chance for you to make it big, with your name on an award-winning song! But you need to send your entries right away to get in this month's competitions. The deadlines for monthly competitions are the last day of each month.

Some additional rules: All entries must be postmarked or uploaded no later than May 31, 2009 and received no later than June 15, 2009. Each entry will be included in the competition for the month in which we receive it, except for those sent during May and received June 1-15. Entries cannot be individually acknowledged or returned. Major Winners will be posted on our web site by July 31st, 2009.
