‘WELCOME TO TWITTER, N*GGER': THE RIGHT GREETS PRESIDENT OBAMA’S ENTRY INTO TWITTERVERSE (SCREENSHOTS)

5-18-2015 4-20-28 PM

Six years into his Presidential term, Barack Obama has finally joined TwitterAccording to a White House blog post, Obama’s new account, @POTUS, “will serve as a new way for President Obama to engage directly with the American people, with tweets coming exclusively from him. President Obama is committed to making his Administration the most open and participatory in history, and will give Americans a new venue to engage on the issues that matter most to them.”

“Hello, Twitter! It’s Barack. Really! Six years in, they’re finally giving me my own account,” the President’s first tweet reads.

The White House also posted video of the President sending his first tweet from the Oval Office:

Within minutes of the first tweet, Obama’s new account had broken 500,000 followers — though he only follows 65 people himself. The President quickly followed Columbia University, Harvard, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, various governmental agencies, and even George H.W. Bush. He also followed every Chicago sports team except the Cubs and the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.

The President was inundated with “welcome” tweets from supporters. Some, including Bill Clinton, wondered if the new username stays with the office of President:

But conservatives across the country (and even the world) were sure to welcome him in their own fashion:

As always, we can count on the Right to treat our President as, in the words of Ted Nugent, a “subhuman mongrel.” The hatred spewed at this President easily outdoes that with which any other President has faced — including G.W. Bush, and he is a monster.

Hopefully, the President is successful in continuing to engage Twitter users. After all, social media is how information spreads, these days.

They hunted down & charged the women who told people on her facebook account to kill police, but I bet the same efforts will not be made for making threats to the President "Obama" of our country. SAD....
