DIDDY BLAMES THE DJS FOR THE FALL OF HIP-HOP.. WHAT DO U THINK?

"People have figured out the formula when they make records for radio, and DJs ain't DJs no more," Diddy explained to MTV. "DJs don't break records no more. DJs don't play album cuts. DJs play what is going to move the crowd. DJs, they don't expose you to the newness. That was the DJs' thing. Hip Hop is in a recession also. It's not dead, it's definitely way better than where it was at, as far as with 'Ye, T.I. and with Jeezy. It's so much great stuff out there, the responsibility has to come with the DJs."

Diddy killed it when he started Video Blogging and had that Wack show and/or shows.
hahaha
He is explaining this to MTV! He should have been pointing the finger at the network the he was speaking to.
I respect Diddy and his words. There is some truth to what he is saying. Maybe I'm speaking out of ignorance because I'm not a "professional DJ" I've been playing my own jams forever though, and I know good music. Many times I would go out and a DJ would play the same song with in the same f'in hour. WTF? I felt disrespected. I remember when DJs were getting it in like in Juice. Now on the other hand when the CORE is in the building...Milwaukee is where I'm at...it goes down. All Diddy is saying is we all have a responsibility and we are ALL a part of the music scene. PLAY YO' POSITION, add some originality...

At least that's what I just heard.
when was the last time someone walked up to a DJ and said....hey play something i aint never heard, play something local
when was the last time someone did that to a radio jock, a club jock or wherever

it RARELY happens...if EVER

people like the same junk over and over -- its familiar

DJs would do more...if they were bankrolling stuff

Golden RUle: he who has the gold makes the rules

Station Program managers are concerned aboutl Listners (who change channels when an unfamiliar song comes on so they can find something they recognize)...no one wants to be first (because advertisers pay based on listnership)

Club GMs want to see floor rotation, so people can buy drinks...but also want to be known as the spot that plays "popular music"

its not the DJs fault, its a bigger problem than that...and DIDDY KNOWS THIS!
We play what the crowd want to hear, now times has changed since the back the in the day dj.If i where to play something new, the crowd now days would say aww that dj wack now they off to the next club. Now you sitn hear playing alot of new shit and nobody is there to hear it, they are somewhere else listening to hot shit. All cities are different,im from Cleveland Ohio, and we listen to old school rap and r&b some new shit but if the beat is not nice no airplay from me! Alot of artist come to the booth like man can you play my hot joint with no cash in the hand! First off i dont no u and your joint might be wack so if im going to clear my floor i want to get paid, and for those who are mad @ that statement that's to damn bad. Im a real dj, i no the art ,i have skillz and to me everybody want's to be a rapper and a dj i might add.Now diddy i have respect for Diddy but...most dj's feed off the crowd,it get's us pumped up when the dance floor is off the hook!
This generation is not tryn to here opera, african jungle music etc..mixed with new stuff but it depends on what it is and what it sounds like. The record companies no that people dont like wack beats and bullshit lyrics! You can get away with bullshit lyrics and a good beat! I like alot of new joints i play them when i rocked the crowd for a while then its time for them to spend money so i will blaze up some new joints.
