The NETWORK for The Core DJ Syndicated Radio Show
Brooklyn born and raised, this native son of New York began DJing in 1990. Butta Brown honed his skills doing the New York City college party circuit where he developed a following. His first big break came in 1995 when he began opening parties for Harlem’s own DJ Craig G, now on HOT 93.1 in Connecticut. Under Craig G’s guidance, Butta Brown further built his reputation by playing larger scale events and 5000 seat capacity concerts. In 1997, Butta Brown was the headliner DJ for Jay Z’s first sold out Brooklyn appearance at Aristocrat Manor. His talent, passion and love of the art form allowed him the opportunity to play alongside DJ legends including Kid Capri, Red Alert, Africa Bambatta, Luv Bug Starski, S&S, Biz Markie, Funkmaster Flex and Enuff. As his popularity rose, Butta Brown also began to attract attention from other artists, DJS and media Queen, Wendy Williams. And in 2003, his hard work earned him a nomination as the Best R&B Mixtape DJ at the Justo Mixtape DJ Awards. Not content with conquering the local market, Butta Brown travelled extensively throughout the States and Canada to lend his unique musical stylings to over 2000 parties and began to see his mixtapes distributed internationally in key markets in the Bahamas, Jamaica and Europe. DJ Butta Brown continues to be a sought after contender, most recently as the DJ of choice for black biker events including the First New York Bike Fest, the First New York Female Bike weekend and the East Coast Meets West Coast Bike Weekend in California. In late 2009, Core DJs founder Tony Neal asked DJ Butta Brown to join the roster of the world’s most influential DJs.
DJ Butta Brown’s extensive music library covering Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Ol’ Skool, House, Latin and everything in between allows him to set the tone at any event.
