My music. extensive library of music spanning the 1970s to the present covering a number of genres and i  am continually adding to it. i subscribe to Green Hitz, the DJ music subcription service. Green hitz sends me the chart toppers every week so i am sure to have the latest hits.

 

Professional equipment. All my equipment is professional grade DJ equipment. i don't use beat up flea market stuff or home stereo equipment.I am always adding new pieces to cover my clients' needs.

 

Backup equipment. i have backup equipment in the unlikely case that something decides to quit on me. i can reconfigure in minutes and continue on with the event. i went to great expense to buy backup gear. But that's how serious i am about my business and the event.

 

Membership in professional organizations. i have membership with  THE REAL DJS and i am in the process of joining the GO DJS, both of which set professional standards for their members. and as a dj I am committed to the standards set forth by these organizations.

 

Professional development. I keep informed of the latest trends by meeting with other area DJs, by participating in DJ forums, by attending DJ conferences

 

Skills development. I participate in classes and workshops to better my professional and associated skills such as public speaking.

 

Knowledge and experience I learned the business of DJing under the watchful eye of accomplished professionals while serving as an unpaid apprentice for 4 different DJs. I also read numerous books, magazines, and web pages on the art and science of DJing, as well as the business behind the business. I have DJ'd or apprenticed at a wide range of performances from small bar gigs and backyard get-togethers to large scale proms, weddings, and company holiday events.
