Let us review who's in the Sweet 16 and who will be the Elite 8. Louisville vs. Arizona is very intriguing considering many, including myself, didn’t even have Arizona getting past the 1st round. Keeping it real a lot of people didn’t think Arizona even deserved to be in the tournament. Guess what they’re in it and they are shining like they were suppose to be in it, and I’m not mad at them, except for the fact that they screwed up my bracket in that region. However Louisville is playing extremely well and I believe Arizona’s run ends against Rick Patino’s ball club.

Next up we have Kansas taking on Michigan State. I have to be honest I have Michigan State facing off against Louisville on my bracket, but the Jayhawks looked mighty impressive after their victory over Dayton last weekend. I won’t be surprised if Kansas is the team to screw my bracket up this weekend. After all they did it to me last weekend, but I don’t blame them I blame West Virginia for losing in the first round and not being there to beat Kansas like I predicted.

UConn and Purdue is one of the matchups I actually got right, and sense I’ve been so accurate in the “West Region” I believe Purdue falls this week to the Huskies. Where they will meet the Memphis Tigers who will be facing off against the Big 12 tournament winners Missouri. This is another matchup I got right, and after Memphis had a wake up call against Cal State they’re definitely ready to take every team serious. Unfortunately Maryland had to be the team to feel their wrath, but don’t expect Missouri to go out with out a fight. This is a very good ball club, but in the end Memphis will prevail.

Now we’re going to show you how the east coast rocks as Pitt and Xavier prepare to battle it out in Boston. Xavier as we know is historically a good team, but this year they’re playing against a team that has played like a team with a chip on it’s shoulder. Speaking of shoulders DeJuan Blair has been riding with the team on his shoulders in the post all year. Add that to the play of Sam Young and you can see why this team has been so dominant. So Expect Pitt to be in the Elite 8.

The question is who will Pitt face, Duke or Villanova? The answer is simple, Villanova. As usual Duke just doesn’t have the personnel to match up with Villanova. Sure Duke will have a good scheme coming into the game, but they’ll lack the athleticism to keep up with the Wildcats as the game goes on. That Villanova backcourt is enough to keep Coach K. up all night, and I’m sure he will be.

In the dirty south we have North Carolina taking on Gonzaga. If you saw Ty Lawson’s second half performance last week then you already know how this one is going to turn out, but I must remind you that the Tarheels can not take Gonzaga lightly. There is a point guard by the name of Jeremy Pargo that Lawson will have to try to contain while nursing a hurt toe. Expect Pargo to go at Lawson all day and force Lawson to put pressure on that injured toe. But in the end the rest of the Tarheels cast will provide too much trouble and North Carolina will advance to the Elite 8.

This final game is going to be the one to make sure you’re at home, or a friend’s house, or your favorite sports bar, or chicken wing spot to watch. Oklahoma will be facing off against Syracuse. Oklahoma has the Player of the Year in Blake Griffin and they’ll need him to have an all-star type of game along with smart play and defense from his backcourt comrades. The reason, Syracuse has been playing with reckless abandonment and a never say die attitude that has captivated the sports world over the last few weeks led by their emotional leader Eric Devendorf. Please don’t be mislead by his 15.9 points per game average, because he’s getting those points at times that can really take the life out of opposing teams. But in the end I’m picking OU to get to the Elite 8 to face off against the Tarheels, another dynamic Match up for the ages.

So enjoy this weekend of the NCAA tournament it promises to be another explosive 4 days of action.
