Jay Cutler Vs. The Denver Bronco's Front Office

A day after Denver Bronco’s head coach Josh McDaniels, reiterated that Jay Cutler is and will be his starting quarterback, things still seem shaky in Denver. The new head coach has sent text messages, phone calls emails, and any other possible way you can think of to contact his quarterback in order to mend fences and prepare for the upcoming season. And just like a woman who’s been cheated on, Cutler apparently has nothing to say to McDaniels.

Let’s bring you up to speed. The new head coach comes to Denver from New England and tries to trade for the then Patriot’s backup quarterback Matt Cassel. Jay cutler the current pro bowl quarterback becomes offended by the new coaches move and demands a trade. Meanwhile upper management sits around and allows the coach to make these allegations about the trade instead of saying “Hey buddy slow down Cutler is our guy.” And because they failed to do so Cutler feels betrayed by them as well as by his new coach.

Honestly I can understand his frustrations. Anyone who’s ever had a job can relate to this situation. You go to work, bust your tail, and the proof is in your work that you’ve done a good job. Then your manager comes in and treats you like you’re the problem instead of one of the solutions that improved the current situation. In this case the Broncos didn’t have a great year, but Cutler’s numbers were so good he was an all star.

However since then the coach has manned up, and changed his tune (probably because he was ordered to) and tried to improve the relationship with his wounded quarterback. But like I said before Cutler is acting like a woman who was hurt by her man, and refuses to take his phone calls. He won’t meet with the coach nor talk with him; he’s only publicly let it be known that he now wants out of Denver.

Here’s my deal, get over it Cutler. It’s professional sports no one is above being shopped around. I mean even the 49er’s let Joe Montana, and Jerry Rice go. The Chicago Bulls allowed Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan to walk after winning six championships. So who are you that you can’t be mentioned when it comes to trade talk?

Again I understand the initial shock after you’ve had a good season, but since then the upper management has reinforced that you’re their man, and the coach has co-signed those sentiments. This is the time to get to camp prepare for the season, and then show out once the season starts and prove to them once again that you are the man in Denver. But instead you’re choosing to sit at home and pout with the whole “no I don’t wanna play, leave me alone” attitude as if you were 8 years old.

Even if the trade did go down, then you go to the next team and show out to a point to where Denver is sick that they let you go. But since it didn’t happen, get out there and do your thing, and when your contract is up for renegotiations you and your agent make them pay.
