Honestly I didn’t think I’d be talking about T.O. anymore until the start of the NFL season, and I planned on sticking to that, but the good old media has pulled me back in. This time however I 100 percent got my man T.O.’s back.

I don’t know about the rest of the world, but the good folks here in Los Angeles feel like Owens is already giving Buffalo a taste of what’s to come. All because he missed the first day of voluntary workouts they’re jumping on his back. Let me emphasize the type of workout, voluntary. Look, the man’s been in the league 14 years, and is one of the best-conditioned athletes in the NFL. Just because he’s not working out for the team with the team doesn’t mean he’s slacking.

Like college, and high school the NFL has 3-4 days that players are suppose to work out. He missed day 1 and I’m sure he’s not the only one, but he’s the only one that the media wants to point at. This is an example of people watching you just to see you fail or mess up so they can call you out on it. To some degree Owens has brought this attention to himself, but still it’s really ridiculous for all the major media outlets to jump on this the way that they have.

Some are saying even if it’s not a big deal why is he setting himself up like this. My reply is the man is a veteran and knows his body better than anyone. Let’s not forget that this is the same man who broke his leg and still came back screws and all to play in the Superbowl. At the end of the day, I don’t care what anyone says, he’s a rider and shows up to do his job giving it 100 percent. This man is 6th in all time receptions, 5th in all time yards, and 2nd in touchdown receptions trailing only Jerry Rice. Those are not the numbers of a slacker.

Now if a few weeks go by and we never see him in training camp, then I may rise an eyebrow, but for the first day it’s not that serious. The man has to move his family to a new city and prepare for this season on a personal level as well as the business side. But you better believe when the season comes around he’ll be ready. Remember he only signed a 1-year deal, meaning he’s got a lot to prove so that he can collect a big check for the 2010-2011 season. It may not be with Buffalo, but if he can make it through the season with the same phenomenal numbers he’s put up in the past, and a good attitude, somebody will definitely come knocking on his door with a nice offer.
