I'm So Tired Of ARTIST that get to big headed and haven't sold ANYTHING....

I was looking for the discussion about mother fuckers that owe you money post it here. I couldn't find it so I had to start it here. Ok this goes out to any artist that think they are using anyone for their personal game. I'm venting, because I just got word that an artist that I've managed and devoted my time for several years and money in his career. I didn't ask for money, but however look out for a nigga when you get on I need to get my company up and running. Well guess what? Mother fucker signed to Universal and CUT me out.

Now to all you artist that do that triflin shit. Let me tell you that you ain't stopping nothing. You show where your loyalty lies it will get around and then no one will fuck with you. If you're anything like me I take that anger and use it for good. What it does to me it just makes me HUSTLE more harder. I don't worry, because god got me regardless.

The moral of this story is YOU REAP WHAT YOU SO and when the grass seem greener on the other side it usually isn't. Stop looking for people to do something for you when you not even investing in yourself.

thats a common misconception

a personal manager does exactly what the name implies...MANAGES whats ALREADY GOING ON

just as the manager in any business...it is not his JOB to go GET business, but to make sure any business that comes is handled properly.

Now a SHARP manager, is going to use resources, connections etc to help create opportunities because they only get paid AFTER the artist gets paid, and a percentage thereof

But it is NOT the managers job to PAY FOR ANYTHING
and it is NOT the managers job to "blow up" the artist.

Most artists looking for managers..don't have squat to manage..which is why they don't have one

An artist should have so much going on, they CAN"T HANDLE IT.

If a manager can't call and say, I represent so and so, and the person on the other end say "REALLY? WHAT CAN WE DO???" then there aint nothing worth the managers time

too many artist confuse management with development.

You need managers when you have opportunities presented, not when you want to get some opportunities.

Thanks so much tha'ts exactly how I feel. I tell people all the time its lonely at the top alone. He told me this is business not personal. I still want to be friends. I was like are you serious? Well I don't want to be yours. I think we look at friends differently. I wish you the best but no thank you. I do thank god that I found out now versus 35k later. I can say god is good and he has blessed me over and over again. Yeap it hurted but all as lesson so I thank god. I thank god that like jacque said not letting it harden my heart. Thanks brother. Its funny because just like how they came back and called you he trying to get back in my good graces. You just can't do people any kind of way and you can't just forget where you came from.

Actions like this can get artist seriously hurt! So my advice don't forget where you came from and when it is time to ride you better be take the person that get's you there with you or else.....! Let me start with acknowledging Jacque's message to you. Hmmmm, gotta take heed! Yet many are right with the expressions toward concerning-agreement for protecting your time. Things is, the minute you assist.... what else would you need.....if you understand what Jacque is saying...???

If I wanted to work with you, I know for a fact that right now I know the majority of what I need to know about you and your services. It's obvious now that you made excellent decissions in supporting this artist. *Wink* Guess what my portfolio is full of? Successful people who so called, "Cut My Throat." Check it, I didn't end the friendship. It empowered me and I spoke about how they did me every time I spoke about our relationship to industry folk .....UNTIL I WAS PAID. But I wasn't asking for money, that's key. Plus I didn't speak about the cut-me-out with contemptment. I praised that fact that they found success. Why? Because at the time I wanted to know how it was done, what was said, and anything else that might be interesting. You better believe we stayed friends. How about pictures that were done for free...all paid for. I can't even display them or the videos previously made because I don't own them anymore. Guess I got a big mouth. Yep, I dropped names, but I never wish a nicca failure!

Today I make it clear that I believe in me and my choices......and that I do not sell content to commercial interest if I'm going to be cut out. Now when someone ask, what celebrity have you worked with.... I'll be able to show them.

You put time in with this artist and the truth is even if he's signed, you'll never loose that time...contract or not. Experience and knowledge is priceless when everyone else is being tricked concerning how to really be successful.
