Over the past decade the South hasn’t only put a stranglehold on the Hip Hop industry, turning out hit after hit record but it has also introduced the world to southern-bred entertainment moguls such as Baby, J. Prince, and Master P.  Stepping from the countryside of Mississippi to capture his place in the successful ranks of the South’s Artist/Moguls is an Artist/Producer/C.E.O. who goes by the name of Confused.  With his previous success in the Mississippi region combined with his deadly combination of classic music and the mind of a fortune 500 C.E.O. there is no confusion that Confused will soon capture his much-deserved place in the ranks of the Southern music industry.

 

Born and raised in Tylertown, Mississippi Confused grew up with a deep love for music but due to his city not having many outlets for him to develop his passion he found other outlets for making money.  At the age of 15 he began to write the music and lyrics that dominated his thoughts but once again because of where he lived he didn’t believe in himself ever making it as an artist and instead kept music as a hobby.  Confused’s attitude towards music would change completely when his older brother Big Country, launched SouthLife Records and asked Confused to join as the label’s president.  As the labels president Confused immediately began teaching himself the ins and outs of the entertainment business and together he and his brother along with fellow MCs Lil Trigga and Deeze recorded their debut album.  The debut project on SouthLife Records was titled “1^st and 10” and immediately upon it release took the streets of Tylertown and its surrounding cities by storm.  SouthLife Records couldn’t keep the CD in stock as it was in such high demand.  This combined with a high demand for shows from the label gave Confused his first taste of real success in the music business.

After the success of SouthLife Records Confused decided to pursue music in the roles of artist developer and entrepreneur.  His first venture was to launch his production company “Confused Productions.”  Under this new venture Confused began recruiting artists in his area that he saw great promise in and dedicated all of his time to working with them on developing their artistic skills and abilities.  During the time he was doing this, there was still a great demand for his music in the Mississippi region but like a true businessman Confused focused on developing his production company and the artists he had signed.  Unfortunately though Confused found himself putting more effort into the artists then they were into their own careers.  Following upon the old adage of “if you want it done right do it yourself” Confused stopped working with all of the artists on the label and instead put his full focus into his own goals of becoming a Producer, a Artist, and a C.E.O.  With the upcoming release of his debut solo album “Pushin Keys” Confused is fully on his way to realizing each of these goals.The South is no stranger to entertainment moguls and with the mind of a successful businessman combined with the musical talents of a Grammy winning artist Confused is set to place his name into the history books of Southern Hip Hop.
