Two Sides to the Michael Vick Coin

The Commissioner’s latest ruling on Michael Vick honestly has me torn. On one hand I feel like the man has served his punishment. I mean 2 years in prison and two full seasons missed is a major punishment. On the other hand anytime a player commits an off the field crime that results in that player going to jail, they’ve always had to serve a NFL suspension… Continue

Who Made The Biggest Improvement L.A. or Boston?

Per request from my man Lonnie Colon from my facebook family, I have to review the latest moves made by the Celtics and the Lakers. The Lakers feel like they’ve put themselves in a good position to defend their title by adding Ron Artest despite losing Trevor Ariza. The Celtics feel like they’re the team in the best position to win the title by inserting Rasheed Wallace… Continue

Iverson Still A Hot Commodity

We’re getting closer and closer to finally knowing where Allen Iverson will land. In the beginning everyone figured he wouldn’t be moved until after the season started, but now it looks as if things could be sorted out before the tip off of the upcoming season. The four suitors are the Memphis Grizzlies, the Charlotte Bobcats, the Miami Heat, and now the Los Angeles… Continue

Has LeBron Gone Pre-Madonna??

So sad so sad, I know I’m a week late talking about this, but I still have to give you my two cents on LeBron James. Last week reports surfaced that during his basketball camp, which was hosted by Nike, King James was the victim of poster-i-zation. Apparently James was dunked on by Jordan Crawford, and soon after the incident took place Nike confiscated all videotapes… Continue

THe NFL Loses A True Warrior

The last four days have been news packed for the world of sports. We witnessed the Williams sisters continue their dominance in the tennis world, we also witnessed Roger

Federer achieve what was once considered to be the unthinkable, and that’s winning his 15th Grand Slam title. Thursday we heard the news of Ron Artest joining the Lakers, Jason Kidd staying in Dallas, and Rasheeed Wallace possibly joining the Celtics. But no news was bigger or… Continue

A Busy Summer in the NBA Continues

Moves continue to be made in the NBA this off-season with the latest news coming out of Detroit. Yesterday the Pistons signed Ben Gordon to a 5-year deal reported to be between 55 and 60 million dollars, and Charlie Villanueva a 5-year deal worth 40 million dollars. This move gives the pistons more offense, but they still have some big decisions to make.

The… Continue

Motor City Madness

Allen Einstein/Getty Images

For the last 6 years Detroit Basketball has been one of the most successful franchises in all of sports. They went to the finals 2 years in a row, and to the conference finals 6 years in a row. They dominated the eastern conference during the stretch and were with out a doubt the team to beat in the east. They were the team that… Continue

What Would You Do For Your Team?

A couple of big names that are hitting the NBA’s free agency market have the entire Association buzzing. The most recent names being discussed are Jason Kidd, and Yao Ming. Yao however isn’t a free agent, but his latest injury could have an affect on… Continue

It's Official Cleveland Get's Shaq

With the draft taking place tonight, NBA teams have been working endless hours to get prepared for it. With all the different trades going on this has been one of the busiest draft weeks in recent years, and in the last two days one of the biggest ever.

Last nights trade will without a doubt not only be the biggest trade before the draft, but the… Continue

With The Number 3 Overall Pick The Oklahoma City Thunder Select...

Monday during our path to the draft discussion I predicted that the Clippers wouldn’t do anything stupid, and would go ahead with drafting Blake Griffin. Tuesday I predicted the Grizzlies would draft Hasheem Thabeet, in an effort to avoid contract fights with Ricky Rubio. That brings us to the number three pick owned by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With their… Continue

With The Number 2 Overall Pick The Memphis Grizzlies Select...

This year the Memphis Grizzlies will have the number 2 pick in the NBA draft. Last year they inherited OJ Mayo, and Darrell Arthur from the national champion Kansas Jayhawks, as well as Marc Gasol. The year before that, they picked up Mike… Continue

With The Number 1 Overall Pick The Los Angeles Clippers Select...

With the NBA draft taking place three days from now there’s a lot of questions about who’s going to be the number two and number three picks. With out a shadow of a doubt Blake Griffin is the number one guy, but some people believe there’s a chance that the clippers will make a deal that could actually send Griffin elsewhere. That’s all just speculation.

Over… Continue

Pro Athletes No longer Receiving Passes for Their Actions

AP Photo/Alan Diaz

It’s nice to know that more teams are starting to care about their player’s character on and off the field, or court. Maybe it’s just the opinion of this blogger but I see things getting a lot better. It wasn’t long ago when athletes were getting in trouble on the regular and only getting a slap on the wrist, now they’re like… Continue

The NBA's Offseason Is Officially Underway

The NBA season hasn’t even been finished a full week, the Lakers haven’t even had their parade, yet the free agency and trade talks have already begun. The top two names making headlines are Hedo Turkoglu and Shaquille O’Neal.… Continue

The Lakers Are The 2009 World Champs

AP Photo/John Raoux

Game 5 picked up where game 4 left off, with Kobe on fire and Orlando spreading the ball around. In the first half you could sense another heavy weight battle between these two teams. Orlando came out and one the first period with points coming from 6 different players in the first half of the quarter. But with all the assists, and made shots… Continue

The Lakers Move 1 Step Closer

AP Photo/John Raoux

Game 4 was highlighted by the dominance of Dwight Howard, who didn’t even hit his first field goal until late in the second period. His play in the first quarter alone showed why he was named the NBA’s defensive player of the year. He was able to get 3 blocks and 11 rebounds to start the game while only scoring 1 point.

By the… Continue

Magic Get First Finals Win

AP Photo/David J. Phillip

Orlando did what everyone expected them to do, and that was winning their first game at home. The question is can they make it a series and win the second game, and then make it real interesting by winning their third home game as well? If I know Stan Van Gundy he has his team taking it one game at a time, and that means they’re… Continue

Jones Uninterested In Another Game of Pacman

AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez, File

For once I’m going to actually side with Jerry Jones. Rumors were circulating that Jones was considering leaving the door open for a possible return for Adam “Pacman” Jones, but yesterday he put those rumors to bed.

The Cowboys owner claims that he’s not worried about Pacman getting into trouble off the field, and even says… Continue

Lakers Persevere To Hold On and Win Game 2

AP Photo/Chris Carlson

Game 2 went exactly the way I figured game 1 would go. A close game, that went down to the wire with great shooting from the Magic, and a great performance by Kobe Bryant. Once again the only surprise was the way the Lakers contained Dwight Howard.

Howard did score 17 points, but he had to work for every single basket. They… Continue

Kobe and the Lakers Try For A 1st Round Knockout

AP Photo/Mark J. Terrill

Everything went exactly as this blogger figured it would. In yesterday’s blog I said Orlando would struggle trying to guard L.A. in the post and they did. I also said L.A. needed more than Kobe Bryant to play well against this team, and they did. I also said L.A. would have problems guarding the perimeter against Orlando,… Continue
