Rich Homie Quan cites is was exhaustion & the Atlanta humidity (not drugs)

On Tuesday afternoon, a day after his presence on XXL's Freshman Class cover was revealed, Rich Homie Quan came home to Atlanta to shoot the video for his single "Walk Thru" with LA rapper Problem. Hours later, he was rushed from the set in Piedmont Park to an area hospital after reportedly having two "seizures," falling and "cracking his head" on set, according to TMZ.

Rich Homie Quan Hospitalized (Report) Within moments, Twitter was flooded with messages from fans of the TIG signee wishing him a speedy recovery, along with speculation as to what could have caused the incident in the first place. There was talk of "lean" (codeine-based cough syrup and soda) having had a role in Quan's falling out in 80-degree weather, but no confirmation.

In fact when the rapper offered Billboard this exclusive statement, he didn't shy away from the rumors, addressing them head-on and denying the episode was a seizure.

"I just want to thank my fans and everyone who has called concerned about me," he said. "I want to clear up two things, after being in 3 states in 3 days, up early having to shoot my video for 'Walk Thru' and even sleeping in between scenes on top of filming in this humid Atlanta heat, I fainted and hit my head." He continued,

"It's no secret that I do turn up, I don't deny that but I'm not addicted to anything including drugs nor was I leaning at the shoot. The media is gonna put fake stories out there but I just want to let my fans know that I'm good and recovering. The second thing is, I promised I will never stop going in and I mean that."

According to Quan's day-to-day publicist, Jonathan Sims, the medical staff stated that it wasn't as bad as people were led to believe. "The doctor actually said he didn't have seizures," he shared. "His muscles were tense and contracting causing him to have sharp pains which made him move around in a seizure-like manner."
