J-Blaze Bio
When Energy meets Swagger. When the Hustler joins Wall St. When Passion gets Style. When Left turns Right. This is truly the only way to describe J-Blaze. His sound and style is one that you cannot place in a box. He refuses to be limited by perception, sound, or style. J-Blaze, is just as unpredictable as fire. The harder the wind blows, the more pressure applied the bigger and more unpredictable the fire gets! J-Blaze, the rapper, the businessman, the torchbearer…willing to bring new elements to the table of, not only what we call Hip-Hop, but also of music altogether.
No one ever saw it coming . . . This North Carolina native started as a new brush fire, blazing its way out of the South, blazing a trail for the rebirth of Hip-Hop. The blend of honest lyricism, infectious flow, and marketability are a recipe for an inferno! Who would have thought that anything other than strong winds and rain would come out of the South? This inferno, known as J-Blaze, was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. He developed a love for music in his early years growing up in a Christian household, where Gospel music played faithfully. Blaze's love for music flourished as he took piano lessons and played the saxophone and drums as a child. In addition to listening to Gospel and Christian hip-hop, J-Blaze listened to mainstream hip-hop artists such as Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, and Nas; in addition to numerous Motown legends and artists from that era, as their records where played faithfully at his grandmother’s house. This diversity of musical influences transformed J-Blaze’s life forever as it gave him a sense of purpose behind his music. The inspiration to be a trailblazer in everything he does is one from God-inspired epiphany, which gives him the boldness and resiliency to be different and be original, while giving him the wisdom and strategy of doing it successfully.
His friends thought of him as a musician, his co-workers thought of him as a businessman, but no one ever knew of the fire burning inside that would soon cause a back draft of flames to engulf the music industry. This love for music followed him as a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Blaze began creating beats for himself and other local artists. This opened up doors for J-Blaze as a rapper, producer, songwriter, and DJ. As he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he stepped into the working world as a banker, doing cash-flow charts, profit and loss statements, investments, lending, deposits, and consulting. So, what happens when you take the mind of a businessman and combine it with the passion of an artist? You’ve got a hot artist with the potential for long-term relevance and mainstay in this music industry.
J-Blaze combines clever lyricism with hot original concepts, creative flow, and invigorating stage presence; bringing hip-hop back to its original lyrical, marketable, and relevant state that has been so hard to capture over the past few years. So, when you see J-Blaze, check the business in his swagger, capture the focus and energy in his eyes, hear the passion in his voice. Everything about him screams Cut The Check! So, if you wonder what has been missing in Hip-Hop . . . Its been J-BLAZE, the Wall St. Hustler.
