Coming straight out of Hattiesburg Mississippi, Laschucklan Martin more commonly known as Mississippi Fatz is ready to take the rap industry by storm. Blazing through Mississippi, Fatz brings a fresh southern sound mixed with raw beats that have hints of east and west coast flavor. His aggressive, get at em attitude is reflected in his first solo release "Almost Never Made It". This insightful disc provides a glimpse into the street lifestyle and music movement in Mississippi. Mississippi Fatz has a long history of musical involvement. In his early years he developed a fetish for the 1 and 2's always scratching up the family records. During a 4th grade talent contest he showcased some of his freestyle skills which he ended up winning fueling his interest in music. He continued to spark his musical interest by winning all of the early morning radio contests at 92.1 WJMG. He used too win so much they had to limit him to one prize a week. During the 2 ½ years he spent in the belly of the beast at Parchman Penitentiary he started to write lyrics and soon realized that hip hop was the direction he needed to pursue. Once he got out of the joint Fatz began laying the ground work for his spot in the Mississippi music scene. After numerous freestyle contests wins on a local radio station Fatz started laying tracks for his first solo album. Before this project could be finished, a friend talked him into joining the Bentley Boys. The Bentley Boys is a group run by Mississippiâ€--s Notorious Huggie B. The album was a local and regional smash. This provided Fatz with exposure but didnt satisfy his desire for full individual expression. After working with Huggie B Fatz went back into the studio to finish "Almost Never Made It". Mississippi Fatz has been pounding the pine belt and trampling tracks from Jackson to the coast and is now ready to tackle the rest of the country. The upcoming release of "Almost Never Made It" will be the start of big things for this sip native. "This album is gonna be a rocker" promises Fatz. The album exhibits explosive energy, tight lyrics and beats that will make the club jump. Fatz has an impressive ability to verbalize his life experiences which shine throughout this disc. Some of his influences can be heard throughout this album ranging from Slick Rick, 2 Live Crew and the Ghetto Boys. Mississippi Fatz is a master at expressing himself not only in the studio but in his freestyle both on stage and off. Having performed in and around the Pine Belt area his performances have rapidly progressed showing signs of a seasoned performer. Currently Fatz is finishing up the 3 kings album with fellow local artistâ€--s Payback Kapone, and Big Rell. This is shaping up to be a classic collaboration which will showcase some of the talent that resides in Hattiesburg and Mississippi in general. Fatz has the track" Sun Up To Sun Down" on the upcoming mixtape "Mississippi the Movement Mix Tape Volume 2". With the release of "Almost Never Made It" around the corner Fatz will be gearing up for an active promotional campaign hitting up the south, east, west and every where in between fighting for his spot in the rap game.
