The first record I ever bought was "The Adventures of Super Rhyme" by Jimmy Spicer. The first concert that I begged my parents to take me was "The Rappers Convention" with Kurtis Blow, Sugar Hill Gang, Sequence, Spoonie G & Grandmaster Flash & the Furious 5. I think Old School starts from the classic Breaks from the 70's that contributed to Hip Hop to the 80's and first half of the 90's. Everything 10 years back is considered Throwback.
Rapper's delight was one of my first records. It was inherited. The Show by Dougie Fresh and MC Ricky D was my first favorite record. Biz Mark the Vapors, Eric B and Rakim, the whole 90's pretty much.

TONY U KNOW I BRINGS IT FAM, 70s, 80s 90s, plus the proper word for "old school music" is "Classics"
Old school is not just one category. u gotta break it down by genre. Old school hip hop to met can start as late as 96. and wit R&B u can consider Jodeci or Keith Sweat old school now. as the clock changes so does the definition

80's babies in this muthafucka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
