The wait is finally over, after what seems like a 2-week period. Realistically it’s only been four days since the last basketball game was played. We have the defending western conference champions back in the finals to face the newly crowned eastern conference champions the Orlando Magic.

No doubt about it this… Continue

Leon Hall's Charge Reduced

Man it must be nice being rich. I mean nice clothes, nice cars, nice homes, and sometimes you even get passes for breaking the law. It just depends on what law you’re breaking.

Recently Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Leon Hall was arrested for what is now being called reckless operation of a vehicle. It was a drunken driving case, but the charges were reduced.… Continue

The Contestants For The Finals Are Decided

AP Photo/Phelan M. Ebenhack

The Finals table has been set with the expected favorite out of the western conference the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the surprise Orlando Magic. I say favorite because most experts picked the Lakers to win the west, but very few expected the Magic to come out the west.

Friday night the Denver Nuggets played as if it were… Continue

The Cavs Live To Fight Another Day Thanks to King James's Triple Double

Lebron James took a page out of the book of Kobe and made his team mates get involved in the Cavs’ 112-102 win over the Magic in game 5 of the eastern conference finals.

The Cavs got out to an early 22 point lead in the first quarter lead b Mo Williams, who was on point like a javelin hitting three 3’s in the first… Continue

The Lakers Go Up 3-2 In Conference Finals

AP Photo/Mark J. Terrill

It wasn’t easy but in the end the Lakers won Game 5, and took a 3-2 lead over the Denver Nuggets, led by Kobe Bryant of course. But it wasn’t just his scoring that made the difference.

Kobe only took 13 shots in the game, and spent the 4th quarter dishing the ball to his open teammates leading the team in… Continue

Cleveland Falls Short Once Again; Mike Tyson Family Suffers A Big Loss; Tom Brady Prepares For New Season

AP Photo/Phelan Ebenhack

Last night the supporting cast showed help to help Lebron James on offense, but Coach Mike Brown neglected to set them up properly on defense. The Magic found themselves open for three pointers again and again knocking down almost 45 percent of their 3-point attempts; on their way to a 116-114 overtime win against the Cavs.

The 3-point onslaught was led by Rafer Alston, who came out firing hitting 2 3… Continue

Smith Sparks Denver to a Game 4 Victory

AP Photo/Jack Dempsey

A stomach virus and a poor shooting performance from Carmelo Anthony should have been enough to give the Lakers a winning advantage. Add in a bad ankle on Melo and that should equal a Lakers win. Wrong.

Denver did what it’s done all playoffs, and that’s find another player to step up. Every game in this series the Nuggets have had a different player step up, and the Lakers haven’t.

In game 1 Carmelo… Continue

A Couple of Game 3's Over the Weekend

After watching Mike Brown get out coached in game 1 by Stan Van Gundy, Cleveland fans had to be nervous about the rest of the series. They had good reason to be nervous considering they were up 33-19 and allowed the Magic to come all the way back and win the game by 1 point.

Then came game 2, and once again the Cavs jumped out to an early lead with the score 33-16 at the end of the 1st quarter. And once again Orlando stormed back, except this… Continue

The Heat Is On In L.A.

AP Photo/ Mark J. Terrill

Last night the Denver Nuggets showed the world exactly why they were the team that earned the number 2 seed in the playoffs, and why they were the team that advanced to the conference finals. All year long the NBA world knew L.A. was the best team in the west the question was who was number 2.

In game 1 the Nuggets came out hot, clicking on all cylinders offensively and defensively, last night was the exact… Continue

Orlando Stuns Cleveland In Game 1

It was all about the supporting cast in game 1 of the eastern conference finals. In years past we’ve all been witnesses to Lebron James willing his team to victory, but against a multitalented Orlando Magic team it was doubtful that James could do it alone, and in game 1 it showed.

The Cavs running on adrenaline got out to a 33-19 lead in the first quarter and managed to sustain their energy through the second quarter, going in at half time with… Continue

Game 1 of The Western Conference Finals Didn't Disappoint

Last night’s battle between Denver and Los Angeles was everything we expected it to be. Kobe Bryant scored 40 points and Carmelo Anthony scored 39 points. Even though the final score was 105-103 there was some great defense played as well.

What was not expected was Los Angeles playing as physical as they did. Andrew Bynum who we know, plays like he still has something to prove was expected to add some toughness to the frontcourt. But the rest of… Continue

Can America Forgive & Forget?

Something is seriously wrong with our country’s values when a man gets caught dog fighting, and lying about it, then serves time in prison and still goes unforgiven by many.

I’ll never defend what Michael Vick did, but I do believe in second chances. The man served his time and will probably be suspended for the NFL for a year once he is released from prison.

With all that, some people still want to see him in prison for life and… Continue

We Say Goodbye To A Great Man

Last week we lost another great man in sports. Not only was he a great man in sports but he also was great man. Wayman Tisdale was yet another great talent out of one of America’s most slept on places, Oklahoma, Tulsa to be exact.

He put the University of Oklahoma on the map in the world of college basketball, before going to the NBA where he played for 12 seasons. While attending OU Tisdale was named to the all conference team his freshman,… Continue

The NBA's Final Four

The NBA’s final four table is set and basketball fans are ready to eat. In the west we have the top seeded Los Angeles Lakers preparing to do battle with the #2 team, the red hot Denver Nuggets. And in the east the #1 Cleveland Cavaliers are preparing to do battle with thee #3 Orlando Magic.

Yesterday the Lakers made an attempt to quiet all doubters by blowing out the Houston Rockets in game 7. With the loss of Yao Ming L.A. was heavily favored… Continue

It's Getting Down To Crunch Time

Who would’ve guessed that the two participants from last year’s NBA finals would be fighting in a couple a game sevens just to make it their own conference finals.

The Lakers blew out the Rockets in game 5 and took a 3-2 lead in their series on Tuesday night. Thursday night something unexpected happened, the Lakers went into Houston and nearly found themselves getting blown out.

The Rockets got off to a 17-1 lead in the first quarter,… Continue

Denver's Headed Back To The Conference Finals

Congratulations to Chauncey Billups and the Denver Nuggets for advancing to the western conference finals, after defeating the Dallas Mavericks 4-1 in their best of 7 series.

They extended their record to 8-2 in the post season and have now won 16 straight home games. And are going back to the western conference finals for the first time since 1985.

Billups though relieved about closing out the series, showed little excitement after… Continue

Sports Stories That Make You Sick and Tired

There are a lot of different things going on in sports, some exciting and very interesting and some really annoying. For example the NBA playoffs, nothing is more exciting this time of year than the quest for the NBA title. I’m not a hockey fan but I must admit the hockey playoffs are making some noise as well. If your not a hockey fan then you may not know about the head to head competition between the Washington Capitol’s Alex Ovechkin and the NHL’s version of Lebron James in Pittsburgh’s… Continue

We'll Miss You Coach Daly

A lot went down this weekend in the NBA. The Cavs went up 3-0 against the Hawks, the Lakers look like the team I tried to warn everyone about, good but not great. My big brother says they’re this year's Seattle Supersonics (remember 1994), and my man Fred says they’re the NBA’s version of the Buffalo Bills. How do you get blown out by team whose without both their all stars? We also saw the refs blow a call that may have cost the Mavs the series. But… Continue

Justice Served

I forgot one more thing that I absolutely love about the playoffs, the physical play. For those of us who have never had a chance to play professionally we’re use to playing games where some of the fouls we receive and give are as hard as it gets. The NBA of course would like to consider themselves above that type of play, but come playoff time all those professional athletes that you took off the black tops revert back to their old selves. You can… Continue
